Corporate Business Continuity

Is your organization prepared to deal with the consequences of a calamity or serious disruption of the business activities? Does your organization have the plans ready to continue the business activities, even under exceptional circumstances? Being well prepared for disruptions and major incidents requires careful analysis, design, implementation and testing and maintenance.

Quality Online’s Business Continuity brings all these things together in one portal, where each employee has access, on the ‘need to know 'principle of Quality Online, to all relevant BCM information. This applies to both the 'Business as usual' status as in a ‘Red alert’ stage.

Key features:

  • Establishing and maintaining a Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
  • Analysis, inventory and assessment of the business impact of each type of calamity
  • Combines all the risks, enforcement and testing measures in one centrally managed system

Business  Continuity Plan
Establishing a ‘Business Continuity Plan’ is the first step in the implementation process. The implementation is performed by recording all steps and actions in scenario templates. From the scenario templates is referred to the documentation, applying for each component. The level of detail depends on the severity and impact of a potential incident. In the event of a serious calamity, BCP documents are prepared in which all steps and actions are specified in detail. This has to ensure that the approach of a calamity has always been done in a proven effective manner, according to the BCM, and that the impact is limited to a (planned) minimum.

Analysis
Using Quality Online Audit Assessment & Management (QOL | AAM), each area of business impact can be pre-assessed, with the use of predefined questionnaires. These questionnaires are distributed among the applicable business units and departments. The process is controlled and provides an accurate and timely completion. Thereafter, the Business Continuity Manager and other experts can analyze the results of this inventory and determine its effectiveness.

Accumulation
After assessing and analyzing the results and defining the impact scenarios, each individual risk and associated management measures can be described and recorded in the Risk & Compliance Management (QOL|RCM) module of Quality Online. This Enterprise solution combines all risks, management and enforcement and testing measures in one centralized system, in which also the required periodic checks can be stored.

Testing and Maintenance
The BCM plans, described in the documentation and in the BCP framework, should be controlled periodically. QOL|BCP enables to execute a test scenario and to report on this. This feature makes it possible for testers to verify all steps, including the related activities. The outcome of the test can be used to update the BCP implementation.

Modular and reusable
All solutions and modules within the Enterprise Process Management Platform of Quality Online are developed from the basis to provide complete uniformity and for maximal reuse of previously recorded data and definitions. It is important for all solutions, but comes to full advantage in BCM. Once inserted checklists can, in all situations, be activated with a few mouse clicks. The reuse goes one step further. Once introduced solutions and scenarios can also be consulted at any appropriate place within the organization, so a high degree of consistency arises.

The introduction of an Enterprise Business Continuity Portal increases the strength of the organization and offers professionals the opportunity to optimally use their expertise for the organization.
