Quality Online, has collaborated with Syngenta, a global agribusiness in crop protection and commercial seeds, to deliver a Mobile Approvals application for hand-held devices.
The BlackBerry Personal Digital Assistant is standard equipment for Syngenta's personnel. To address issues around team member absence and workflows, Syngenta worked with Quality Online to develop a mobile application to enable authorisations via the BlackBerry. With Quality Online's Mobile Collaboration applications, managers can give timely approvals from wherever they are in the world. The application aggregates information necessary for decision making and then reformats Quality Online's authorisation function for PDA screen display, before sending it as an email to a BlackBerry or any other brand of PDA. After an authorisation takes place, the relevant details are sent automatically to alle the appropriate people, so that the project can continue.
"The integration of the BlackBerry makes the decision making process much simpler and more efficient. It also makes it possible to reach an important group of users, who only want key information when they are making a decision. The first responses to Quality Online's new mobile applications are very positive.
